Visakhapatnam: City police arrested three persons in connection with the possession of narcotics, their alleged trafficking and seized a substantial quantity of drugs, along with cash, a car and mobile phones from them.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, East division ACP Lakshmana Murthy informed that the police conducted checks at East Point Colony in Chinnawaltair, under the limits of the III town police station limits and apprehended three accused.
The arrested persons were identified as Addepalli Madhu of Atchutapuram mandal in Anakapalli district, Patnala Venkata Siva Prasad of BC Road in Gajuwaka, and Tippala Vidyasagar of Srinagar Official Colony, Gajuwaka.
Police said 1 kg of hashish oil, a car, Rs.10,000 cash and two mobile phones were seized from Madhu.
The city police recovered 20 grams of MDMA from Siva Prasad Rs.10,000 cash and a mobile phone.
Police are continuing their investigation to establish the source of the narcotics and determine whether others are involved in the network.
