Visakhapatnam: ‘Viksit Bharat Pharma Conclave-2026’ was held in a grand manner at Centurion University on Saturday, bringing together experts from the pharmaceutical industry and academia to discuss emerging trends, technologies and career opportunities in the pharma sector.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Vice-Chancellor Prasant Kumar Mohanty spoke about the future of the pharmaceutical industry and the emerging opportunities in the sector.
A panel discussion focused on the future of pharmaceutical sciences and digital pharma was held as part of the conclave. Kaleshwar, general manager of Granules India, and V Ramakumar, head of department at Optimus, shared their insights on the changing landscape of the pharmaceutical industry.
Representatives from the human resources departments of leading pharmaceutical companies highlighted the skills and competencies pharmacy graduates need to succeed in the industry.
Achyutaramaraju, HR representative of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and G Veerraju, HR representative of Optimus, emphasised the importance of developing industry-relevant skills among pharmacy students.
The experts assured students that the growing adoption of AI would not necessarily lead to a decline in employment opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector. Instead, they emphasised that technological advancements would create new roles and increase the demand for professionals with relevant skills.
Chandan Kumar Brahma, Principal of the School of Pharmacy, MLN Acharyulu, head of the department, Gowrisankar Rao, faculty members and a large number of students participated in the programme.
