Wards of railway employees display creative best at essay competition

Visakhapatnam: The South Coast Railway Zonal Women’s Welfare Organisation Visakhapatnam organised an essay competition for the wards of railway employees at the Railway Officers’ Club, Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Charu Mathur, president of the South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, monitored the competition and encouraged the participating children.

The competition was organised in three age groups, with topics given on the spot. The initiative aimed to promote book reading, healthy competition, creative expression and enthusiasm among children and youth regarding general concepts and contemporary issues. Topics for the three different categories included healthy food, my class teacher, importance of recreation activities, joint family or nuclear family, and Gen-Z.

The participants enthusiastically expressed their thoughts, ideas and perspectives on the topics. Anju Gupta, secretary of SCoRWWO, Swarnalatha, treasurer and other executive members of the South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation encouraged the children to participate in such contests.

Later, Charu Mathur presented certificates and prizes to the winners in recognition of their performance. The South Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation continues to undertake various initiatives aimed at the holistic development, welfare and overall well-being of railway employees and their families.
