Kamalapur (Hanumakonda): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao have been working overtime to defeat me in the upcoming by-election to Huzurabad Assembly constituency, former Minister and BJP leader Eatala Rajender said.

Addressing a meeting here on Monday, he said that Huzurabad constituency is witnessing a sort of Dasara festival with the ruling TRS dumping cash bags. Stating that the government has released all the pending bills to gram panchayats (GPs) in the constituency, Eatala dared the CM to do the same to other GPs in the State.

"I may look frail but has guts to withstand all the pressure exerted by the KCR government," Eatala said, accusing Harish Rao of indulging in poaching his cadres. Stating that KCR was spending Rs 200 crore to defeat him, Eatala said that he was well aware of KCR's assets as he accompanied him since 2001.

"I fought hard against the Andhra rulers during the Telangana movement and also went to jail several times. After the formation of Telangana, I developed Huzurabad constituency on all counts," Eatala said, accusing KCR of conspiring to see his back.

The BJP leader expressed happiness over the development of Huzurabad after his resignation. "By hook or crook, KCR wants to see my defeat in the by-election. To fulfill his ambition, KCR pumped in funds to Huzurabad constituency.

However, people in the region are well aware of KCR's guiles, and they will teach him a fitting lesson," Eatala said. Further, he said that he will continue his fight against KCR to protect the self respect of the Telangana people.

BJP Hanumakonda district president Rao Padma, former MLA Yendala Laxminarayana and Achcha Vidyasagar were among others present.
