Hanumakonda: Ruling party MLAs Kadiyam Srihari and KR Nagaraju on Monday demanded strict action against BRS MLC Tata Madhu and others over alleged inappropriate remarks against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and Station Ghanpur MLA KadiyamSrihari said the comments made against the Speaker were objectionable and hurtful.

He alleged that some leaders resorted to arrogant remarks against Dalits when they attained constitutional positions.

He also criticised former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that he had failed to demonstrate genuine concern for Dalit welfare beyond implementing constitutional reservations.

Srihari further alleged that KCR was avoiding the Assembly because the Speaker was a Dalit and demanded that the House stand united in protecting the dignity of the Speaker.

Nagaraju said the remarks were unacceptable in a democratic institution and sought examination of the Assembly records. He demanded stringent action, including suspension and registration of cases if warranted.

He also criticised BJP MLAs for allegedly disrupting the discussion on the issue.
