Strengthen measures to regulate traffic, says Warangal CP

WARANGAL: Warangal Police Commissioner N Swetha, IPS, inspected the Warangal Traffic Police Station on Friday as part of her annual inspections.

The Traffic Inspector welcomed the Commissioner by presenting a plant, while armed police personnel accorded her a guard of honour. She later inspected the kit articles of the staff.

During the inspection, the Commissioner examined various records maintained at the police station. She enquired about the functioning of the traffic police, vehicle checks, enforcement of traffic rules and measures being taken to prevent road accidents.

Focus on accident prevention

CP Swetha directed the officials to take strong measures to regulate traffic in the city and reduce road accidents. She asked them to identify accident-prone areas and implement necessary traffic-control measures in those locations.

She stressed the need to give top priority to the safety of motorists and pedestrians. She directed the police to take legal action against traffic violators and conduct extensive awareness programmes to educate the public about road safety rules.

Treat public with courtesy

The Commissioner instructed traffic police personnel to deal with the public courteously and provide efficient services. She asked them to remain alert while performing their duties and manage traffic without causing inconvenience to commuters.

She also reviewed the maintenance of records, staff performance and duty allocation at the station. She advised the personnel to perform their duties with greater dedication and provide better policing services to the public.

Additional DCP (Traffic) Prabhakar Rao, ACP Satyanarayana, SIs and traffic police personnel participated in the annual inspection.
