MP Foundation Day to focus on farmers’ welfare: CM Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed that the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day on November 1 be celebrated with the theme “Prosperous Farmer – Prosperous State.”

He said the year 2026 is being observed as the Year of Farmers’ Welfare, and the Foundation Day programmes should therefore highlight agricultural development and farmers’ welfare.

Presiding over a meeting at the Mantralaya on Monday, Yadav asked officials to set up special exhibitions on advanced agriculture, natural farming and agricultural innovations. Farmers, entrepreneurs and youths who have achieved success or introduced innovations in the agricultural sector will be honoured.

He emphasised that programmes should also be held at the district level with full enthusiasm and maximum public participation. All government buildings are to be illuminated on the night of November 1.

“The Foundation Day is a festival for the entire state. Opportunities should be provided to the state’s talented individuals to showcase their art, skills and capabilities,” Yadav said.

The state-level ceremony for the 71st Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day will be held at the Lal Parade Ground. Exhibitions will showcase themes such as Developed Madhya Pradesh-2047, One District-One Product, the state’s folk heroes, traditional arts, temple architecture, India’s Rishi tradition, the Heritage to Development initiative and achievements in agriculture. A special fair featuring indigenous cuisines will also be organised.

On the evening of November 1, a grand light music programme will feature performances by renowned artists from across the country, followed by a fireworks display.

As part of the celebrations, cultural activities and exhibitions highlighting district-specific outstanding work and local products will be organised at district headquarters. Instructions have been issued to specially invite public representatives, social workers, industrialists, businesspersons, religious leaders, voluntary organisations, freedom fighters, Democracy Fighters, families of martyred soldiers, high-achieving self-help groups and individuals associated with start-ups to these district-level events.

Directives were also issued regarding seating arrangements, traffic management and security measures for the state-level function.
