"No voter to be left behind"- UP CEO Rinwa
Lucknow: The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Rinwa, said on Thursday that, under the Election Commission of India's instructions, a special campaign will be conducted with the help of various departments during the continuous review period to increase the EP ratio and gender ratio in Uttar Pradesh. To achieve the objective of "No voter to be left behind," all District Election Officers have been directed to include 100% of eligible citizens in the electoral roll.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that under the continuous revision of the electoral rolls of the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the state after 2026, instructions have been given to all the district election officers to include the names of eligible youth, excluded voters, first-time voters, homeless voters, disabled voters and women voters in the voter list. He said more eligible citizens will be registered through the special campaign with help from various educational institutions, voluntary aid groups, health workers, etc. Instructions have been given to ensure sufficient Form-6s are available during the campaign.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that any eligible citizen can apply online through the Citizen Service Portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or ECINET Mobile App by filling Form-6. They can also fill Form-6 offline with the required documents and submit it to their BLO / Assistant Electoral Registration Officer / Electoral Registration Officer. Eligible citizens are required to fill all their entries in a clean and error-free manner.
He clarified that the declaration, along with Form-6, to be filled in other audits except special intensive audit has been done away with.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that all District Election Officers in the state have been directed to conduct extensive publicity at the district level through various means, so that more citizens can get information. In this work, various departments like women welfare, higher education, secondary education, medical department, differently abled, rural development, youth welfare, etc. have been instructed to cooperate so that no eligible citizen is deprived of inclusion in the electoral roll.
