New Delhi: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee will launch an awareness campaign against the Modi-led BJP government's regressive economic policies and anti-democratic measures to commemorate the conclusion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in the State.

Disclosing this to the media here on Thursday, TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy said as part of the all India campaign chalked out by the AICC, his party would conduct a seminar on the status of economy which would be attended by noted economists and analysts to educate the party workers as to why the country's economy had slowed down.

The adverse effect of Modi's economic policies would also be explained to the people.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said a membership enrolment campaign would also be launched so that at least 30,000 active party workers would be enlisted in each Assembly segment.

Around 20 lakh new members had been enrolled in the last campaign and this time at least 35 lakh new membership was the target.

The TPCC president was here to attend the AICC meet called for by interim president of the AICC Sonia Gandhi here on Thursday.
