Guntur: Forum For Better Bapatla secretary P C Sai Babu has said wetlands are vital for human survival. World Wetland Day was celebrated by forum on Friday.
Speaking on this occasion, Sai Babu said that the wetlands provide food, fresh water and building materials. They help in flood control, groundwater recharge and climate change mitigation, he added. The programme was organised in the office of Velugu Project. Community organisers Kiran Bula, Jyoti and members of the Self-Help Groups participated.
