Balaiah to join Naidu’s Cabinet?

Hyderabad: All eyes are on actor-turned-politician N Balakrishna, who won the Assembly seat from Hindupur constituency in Rayalaseema region.

Balakrishna also happens to be the brother-in-law of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. The big question before the party leaders is whether Naidu would induct Balaiah into the first Cabinet in the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

According to party leaders, Balakrishna prefers medical and health portfolio as his first choice in case Naidu inducts him into the Cabinet. Alternatively, he may prefer Tourism or Panchayatraj.

It may be mentioned here that Balakrishna heads the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital. As Minister of medical and health, it would be possible for him to improve the medical facilities and see that quality medicare was easily accessible to the poor and downtrodden.

However, it remains to be seen if Naidu would accommodate him since Balakrishna happens to be a first time MLA. Senior leaders say that Naidu would not like to become the target of opposition parties of converting his government into a family affair.
