Ongole: The State government is a farmers’ friendly government and it is committed to the welfare of farmers, said Ministers, who attended the Rythu Kosam Chandranna Vijayalu programme in Prakasam district on Tuesday.
They said that the government is taking up various programmes for the welfare and uplift of the farmers in the State to make agriculture a profitable vocation.
Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao started a State-wide Rythu Kosam Chandranna tour on September 9 from Srikakulam district to give moral support to the farmers and explain the welfare schemes launched by the State government.
The tour reached Parchur in Prakasam district on Tuesday. Ministers Siddha Raghava Rao, Kollu Ravindra, Ravela Kishore Babu, Telugu Raitu President Karanam Balaram, MLC Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, Parchur MLA Eluri Sambasiva Rao and other MLAs in the district attended the programme.
AGRI EXPO, an exhibition with nearly 60 companies showcasing their products in advance farm technologies, mechanisation, seeds and fertilisers attracted the farmers who attended the event.
