Vijayawada: The CPI and CPM extended their support to the State bandh to be observed on August 2 in protest against the NDA
government for not according Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

CPI city secretary Donepudi Sankar and CPM city secretary Donepudi Kasinath talking to reporters at the CPI State office here on Sunday
said the BJP and Telugu Desam cheated Andhra Pradesh people on the Special Category Status issue. They said that the city units of CPI
and CPM were extending support to the bandh call given by various parties protesting against the BJP.

They appealed to the people to observe bandh and close down the shops, offices, educational institutions in the city on August 2 and
make the bandh a grand success.

The Tax Payers Association, too, extended its support to the bandh. Association secretary M V Anjaneyulu in a press release on Sunday
appealed to the people to participate in the bandh.

He alleged both the Telugu Desam and BJP cheated the people of Andhra Pradesh on Special Category Status. YSR Congress West
Assembly constituency in-charge Shaik Asif appealed to the people to take part in the bandh.

Talking to reporters at I Town on Sunday, along with the other party leaders, Shaik Asif said YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy
called for the bandh protesting against the failure of the TDP to get Special Category Status to the State.

Asif appealed to the people to take part in the bandh and express their protest over the failure of the BJP on according Special Category
Status to the State.
