An excursion programme of 19 youth from Kommalapudi village in Manubolu mandal turned tragic with drowning of three in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Penuballi Yeswanth, 26, Penuballi Dileep, 24 and B Venkatesh, 23.  

Nellore: An excursion programme of 19 youth from Kommalapudi village in Manubolu mandal turned tragic with drowning of three in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Penuballi Yeswanth, 26, Penuballi Dileep, 24 and B Venkatesh, 23.

According to sources, 19 youth from Kommalapudi village in Manubolu mandal went for swimming at Kodur beach as part of recreation tour. Yaswanth and Dileep were brothers and Venkatesh and two others also joined the team for swimming. When they moved into deep sea, suddenly a gigantic tide swept them away.

The other members failed to rescue them as they were in shock with the sudden development. Acting on tip-off, marine police had managed to rescue two amongst them. TP Gudur police with the help of local fishermen and marine police fished out bodies and shifted them to Nellore government hospital for post-mortem. TP Gudur police registered a case.
