Six persons were killed in different road mishaps in the State on Sunday. Three persons were killed and another sustained severe injuries when a speeding car hit a stationary vehicle on the national highway at Racharlapadu of Dagadarthi mandal in Nellore district in the early hours on Sunday.

According to police, Venkata Satish was travelling from Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu to Mangalagiri in Guntur district along with his parents Gowrinatha Sastry, mother Padmavathi and wife Sindhuja.

They had to attend Grihapravesham ceremony on Sunday in Mangalagiri, native place of Sindhuja. But, the speeding car hit the stationary vehicle at Racharlapadu in which Gowrinatha Sastry and his daughter-in-law Sindhuja died on the spot.

Satish and Padmavathi were shifted to a local corporate hospital in Nellore where Padmavathi succumbed to severe injuries in the evening. Doctors said condition of Satish was critical.

Satish and Sindhuja got married only an year ago. Police registered a case. In another accident in Kadapa, three people died on the spot when the car in which there were travelling to Nellore from Anantapur collided with a lorry coming in the opposite direction on the outskirts of Badvel town in Kadapa district in the wee hours on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Kambam Venkata Rami Reddy (52), and his wife K Sujatha (45) and car driver P Madhu (36). All the deceased belonged to Ramnagar in Anantapur town.

According to sources, Venkata Rami Reddy along with his wife was going to Nellore to attend a marriage. When the car reached Madakaravari Palli village, the mishap occurred. Badvel police registered a case.
