Illegal crackers worth 36.57 lakh seized in Guntur
The rural police conducted raids on unauthorized crackers stock points in Guntur district on Saturday and booked 23 cases and arrested 25 persons so far and seized crackers worth Rs 36,57,144
Guntur: The rural police conducted raids on unauthorized crackers stock points in Guntur district on Saturday and booked 23 cases and arrested 25 persons so far and seized crackers worth Rs 36,57,144.
Following the instructions of Guntur rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu, they conducted raids and verified records and permits and booked cases against those, who don not have valid permits.
The SP warned that keeping stocks of crackers without valid permit is a crime and cases will be booked against those, who violate norms, and stern action will be taken against them.
He instructed those having valid permits should follow norms famed by the fire and other government departments to check fire accidents.
Keeping of excess stock of crackers is also crime, he added.
The SP made it clear that keeping material used for making crackers in house also crime and urged the people to furnish information about those, who keep crackers illegally, to dial 100.
