Amaravati: The Group of Ministers, headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, at a meeting held at Secretariat here on Wednesday, cleared the land allotment proposals in Amaravati Capital City for various institutions and organisations.

The GoM approved allotment of 1,374.96 acres of land to 85 institutions in 10 categories, explained the Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Minister for Urban Development P Narayana at a press conference after concluding the meeting.

The land value per acre is decided from Rs 10 lakh to maximum of Rs 4 crore. For charity organisations, the land will be sold at Rs 10 lakhs, whereas for commercial usage, it will be sold at Rs 4 crore, the ministers explained.

Srinivasa Rao said that the AP Capital Region Development Authority was to get Rs 506 crore through these land allotments. But, by now the CRDA got only Rs 386 crore only. The due amount will be collected, he added.

He said that the total value of these projects based on the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) submitted by the institutions is estimated as Rs 45,678 crore. The minister said that some of the institutions which got land already started construction and some other are under progress.

At the same time, the CRDA also found that some institutions are yet to start construction works. He said that the CRDA will serve notices to such institutions, which did not commence construction works. If the CRDA will not get satisfied with their explanation, as per the stipulated rules and regulations, then the allotted land will be cancelled, he warned.

The minister said that 20 institutions of the Government of India applied for the land and GoM approved 182 acres to 15 central Public Sector Undertakings and 20 acres approved, 12 Institutes from state government applied and 80 acres allotted, 2 state PSUs applied and 8 acres allotted.

He further said that 4 Universities applied for the land and GoM approved 650 acres of land for them. Another 4 Health Institutions also asked government and they got 277 acres. 8 National and International schools applied for land and they got 37 acres, 8 star hotels applied and they got 24 acres, 5 spiritual organisations asked land and government allotted 65 acres and 39 acres allotted for 7 other institutions.
