249 industrial units sanctioned to Krishna district

Vijayawada: District Collector B Lakshmikantham said that 249 industries were sanctioned under the Prime Minister Employment Generation scheme in the district this year.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries are eligible for 35 percent subsidy to set up their units. The Collector held a review meeting with the officials at his camp office here on Tuesday, on the progress of industries in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the single window system being implemented to sanction permissions is very beneficial to the entrepreneurs. Collector has informed that 249 industries were sanctioned each with a maximum limit of Rs.25 lakh.
He said 19 applications are in pending under the single window system. He instructed the Industries department officials to clear the pending applications. Industries department General Manager Sudhakar and other officials present in the meeting.
