Intex launches DJ speakers in AP, TS

Hyderabad: Intex Technologies, a consumer electronics and mobile handset maker, on Thursday expanded its product range in speakers by launching DJ speakers targeted at youngsters.

The company, which claims to be the market leader in speakers segment, says it has 20 per cent market share in the segment. It expects the market share to increase to 30 per cent, driven by the newly-introduced product range and wireless speakers that it intends to roll out soon.

The two new DJ speakers which are manufactured in-house are targeted at mid segment buyers. They come equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, USB port, SD card and a built-in FM tuner.

The speakers come with AUX Audio input compatible with DVD/PC/LCD TV. The entry-level DJ-18000 SUFB is priced at Rs 13,999 while the upscale DJ-20000 SUFB speakers are available at Rs 18,999. The company also unveiled a tower speaker priced at Rs 14,200.

“The DJ speakers are obviously targeted at youngsters. We are looking at selling 2 lakh sets this year followed by 3 lakh sets next years, as they are affordable. To further expand our range, we will enter wireless speakers segment soon,” Vinay Kapoor, AGM-Product (IT), told the media here after the launch.
