Rakul to replace Samantha in Chai’s film

At a time when everyone were waiting with bated breath to watch the soon-to-be couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha on-screen, here comes a twist in the tale. If the latest buzz is anything to go by, Sam, who was the original choice for the leading lady, will not be sharing screen space with Chai in the forthcoming project under Kalyan Krishna. Since the duo is already seen together several times on screen, the makers are contemplating a fresh pair to keep the buzz alive.

We hear, the film’s director approached her for the project and the svelte actress liked the script. She is currently looking to sort out her date diary to accommodate the family drama. Interestingly, this news comes in days after Rakul signed Mahesh Babu’s film in which she replaced Parineeti Chopra.

“Rakul is gung-ho about the project and she’s now working on her chock-a-block date diary to sign in on the dotted lines. Since it is a single-heroine subject and would be her first project opposite Chai, the actress is all the more kicked,” says a source close to the unit.
