Adilabad: The police here on Tuesday morning nabbed 3 members of a gang of robbers and seized from them 23 tolas of gold worth Rs 6.75 lakh and three knives.

The robbers were involved in thefts in houses at different places in the town. Speaking to the media at the One Town police station here, Adilabad division DSP L Lakshminarayana said that the CCS police led by Circle Inspector B S Krishna Goud found four persons moving suspiciously at Rampur area. However, on seeing the police, they tried to escape. The police managed to catch three of them while one escaped.

The three persons caught by the police were identified as robbers. Those nabbed are: Kalyan Ramchander Padgani (20), a native of Nanded district in Maharashtra, Sheik Masood Qureshi alias Rijju (19) of Tirupelli Colony in Adilabad, and Gayi Kamble Dileep (24) of Balajinagar in Adilabad. Another robber Gayi Kamble Dallit (24) escaped. The police recovered gold ornaments and three knives from them. District SP Tarun Joshi announced a special reward for the CCS police for catching the gang of robbers.

DSP Lakshminarayana congratulated CCS SI Surender, head constables Babar Baig, Sanjeev, Maniram, Ganpath, Zakeer Ali, Javed, Venkat Swamy and Nagaraj who nabbed the robbers.
