Jilted lover kills Tumkur girl at hostel in Bengaluru

Crime and gender atrocities have taken a leap in Bengaluru city particularly in educational institutions.

Girls of all ages are being targeted by not only co-students, but also teachers, staff and also strangers either for sexual demands or for rejecting advances.

A 17 year old pre university student Gauthami, at the Pragati Residential School at Kadugodi. in the outskirts of Bengaluru, was shot dead while her roommate Shirisha was injured when the attender of the school barged into the hostel and opened fire allegedly for rejecting his advances.

The attender Mahesh, fled the scene after the firing and the police have launched a man hunt. Initial reports suggest the victim hailed from Tumakuru district. The condition of Shirisha is said to be stable at a local hospital at Bengaluru.
