Hyderabad: Dasharath Yadav, one of the accused in the Marredpally attack case, attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide at his home when the police went to arrest him on Monday night. Dasharath alias Dashi, a resident of Sanjeevaiah Nagar under Gandhi Nagar police station limits, was a history sheeter, the police said.


According to police, Dasharath was accused number four in the case. The police registered case against 101 persons in connection with the attack onf Marredpally police statio on August 3. The attack on the police station followed the death of Banappa after he was confined overnight.

The Lalaguda police, who launched manhunt to apprehend Dasharath, went to Dasharath’s relative’s house on learning he was taking shelter there. On seeing the police, he consumed pesticide in an attempt to commit suicide. Dasharath was immediately taken to Yashoda hospital in Secunderabad for treatment. His stated to be in critical condition. Marredpally inspector B Ravinder Reddy on Monday said that Dasharath was involved in several criminal case.
