Severed head of youth found on highway
Locals noticed the head and immediately informed the police who rushed to the spot. Guntur Urban SP Sarva Sresta Tripathi and other police officials rushed to the spot and enquired about incident. They searched for the body in the surrounding areas, but in vain. The incident created sensation. Sniffer dogs and CLUES team were pressed into service.
Amaravati: In a bizarre incident, some unidentified persons severed head of a youth and threw it on Vijayawada-Guntur highway. The head was found at Atmakur village opposite Happy Club on Tuesday morning.
Locals noticed the head and immediately informed the police who rushed to the spot. Guntur Urban SP Sarva Sresta Tripathi and other police officials rushed to the spot and enquired about incident. They searched for the body in the surrounding areas, but in vain. The incident created sensation. Sniffer dogs and CLUES team were pressed into service.
The police suspect that some persons beheaded the youth at other place with a sharp weapon and threw it on NH-5. The police found injuries on the head. Thehead might have been thrown onto the road from a passing vehicle. The head fell on the road divider and rolled on to the highway. Bloodstains were found on the divider. A two-wheeler run over it. The police launched a search for the torso.
The head was sent to NRI General Hospital and kept in the mortuary. The SP, Sarva Sresta Tripati said, “Somebody severed the head of the youth due to old rivalry and threw it on NH-5. Four special teams have been formed to find body of youth and I have instructed my staff to verify kidnap and missing cases registered in other districts also.”Mangalagiri Circle Inspector B Hari Krishna is investigating the case.
