SC extends MBBS time schedule by one month. Supreme Court has extended the medical under graduate admission schedule by one month. Till now, the last date for completion of admission was July 31 and the classes would have commenced from August 1.

Hyderabad: Supreme Court has extended the medical under graduate admission schedule by one month. Till now, the last date for completion of admission was July 31 and the classes would have commenced from August 1. But hereafter, the classes would commence from September 1 and the last admission after completion of three rounds of counselling shall be done before September 30.

Acting on a petition filed by several students and managements from seven states, the apex court ruled that the medical entrance examinations should be held in the month of May and the results shall be declared by June 5.

For post graduate medical admissions too, the schedule was slightly revised. The first round of counseling of PG courses shall be done by March 30 every year and the last date for students joining in their allotted colleges will be April 7. The second round of counselling will be done between April 27 and May 3 and the last date to join will be May 10. No student shall be given admission beyond July 10 and the classes will commence from June 30, according to the order pronounced by a vacation bench consisting of Justice NV Ramana and Justice Dipak Mishra.
