Vedic chants reverberated early in the morning as residents of PS Nagar Phase-II, Dammaiguda, participated in the ‘Vigraha Pratistha’ (idol installation ceremony) at Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy Temple on Sunday. The ceremony was led by Hampi Visupaksha seer, Vidyaranya Bharathi Swamy, who along with priests oversaw the installation of idols.

The grand event started with special pujas for the deities including Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy, Subramanya Eswara, Vigneshwara and Lalita Parameshwari. All the idols were sculpted by Valinayakan, as per vedic specifications.
Vidyaranya Bharathi Swamy performed a special puja on the ‘Yantra’ and the idols and then supervised its installation. The installation was followed by traditional rituals. Couples dressed in traditional yellow attire performed the rituals.
“We, the residents of PS Nagar Phase-II, formed the Sri Shiridi Sai Prasannanjaneya committee to oversee the construction of the complex. It took 14 months to construct after pooling up Rs 36 lakh for this holy endeavour. All the 120 families who live here have contributed towards this cause. This is the second temple in the country which has the Navagrahas along with their spouses,” beams KV Rama Rao, secretary, temple committee.
