Chairman of NASSCOM Dr BVR Mohan Reddy urged the students of Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) to be a part of the digital revolution during his visit to the campus in Banjara Hills on Thursday.

“By 2020, there will be 20 billion things (devices) that will get connected to each other; machines will talk to machines, and machines will talk to people. An enormous amount of evolution will happen through digital technology”, said the doctor who is also the Founder and Executive Chairman of Cyient Ltd.
Addressing the first year students on the Commencement Day, Dr Reddy said, “It is the age of digital revolution; students must take advantage of this and be a part of the revolution by using Internet and Communication Technologies (ICT’s).”
Congratulating students for ‘being at the right time at the right place’, he said, “Never has mankind experienced the same change as we are experiencing now. Technology is at its best now.”
Gyrating into historical perspective of engineering, he said “Since the coinage of the word ‘engineering’ in 1325 AD when military engineering and civil engineering were the only two types of engineering, a lot has transformed.”
“This velocity has never been there in the past”, he added.
Chief Executive Officer of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) Sujiv Nair spoke about the three things that lead to success. “Firstly, students must look at the 86,400 seconds of every day as time as time is money and focus on education and employ most of the time for the same.
Secondly, every student must pick up one skill at least. Thirdly, students should take care of environment around them, uphold the value systems based on morals and ensure their contribution in making a golden Telangana by doing little acts like wearing a seat belt while driving or helmet while riding,” he explained.
Welcoming the first year students to college and stressing on innovating for a change, secretary of Sultan-Ul-Uloom Education Society, Zafar Javeed said, “It’s time that we become innovators and exporters of technology where young engineers would deliver for this country.”
Vice-Chairman of SUES Muhammad Waliullah, treasurer Dr Mir Akbar Ali Khan, MJCET Principal KV Krishnan, Amir Javeed were also present on this occasion.
