MLA hands over govt aid to 51 persons

Karimnagar: Legislator Gangula Kamalakar handed over Demand Drafts worth Rs 51,000 each to 51 persons, here on Thursday as the government’s assistance under ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ and ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ schemes.

36 beneficiaries out of the total 240 applicants were selected for Shaadi Mubarak scheme, while there were 15 applications seeking Kalyana Lakshmi assistance.

Kamalakar urged the beneficiaries not to believe brokers and get cheated. Advising the beneficiaries to utilise the amount for meeting marriage expenditure of their daughters, the MLA assured that all applicants would get the government assistance in the form of cheques.
