GHMC saves Rs 48.70 cr through LED project
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is finding best implication for energy conservation by taking new initiatives in street lights, in office buildings and domestic lighting. As a part of this project GHMC has taken up LED implementation works with M S Engineering Services Limited which is a joint venture of power supply units of ministry of power.
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is finding best implication for energy conservation by taking new initiatives in street lights, in office buildings and domestic lighting. As a part of this project GHMC has taken up LED implementation works with M S Engineering Services Limited which is a joint venture of power supply units of ministry of power.
With the initiation of this project there is a huge reduction ion monthly power consumption bill. The energy savings since the beginning of the project is 6,97,64,511 units with the reduction amount of Rs 48.70 crore from July 2017 until April 2018. EESL started the work in October 2017 and replaced 4,07,392 fittings until June 2018. Which makes GHMC the first largest municipal corporation in implementing LED street lightning project in India.
