Puranapul: Following recovery of carcasses of five puppies, near Puranapul on Monday sparked a public outcry over the inhumane act. Animal rights activists are now up in arms and demanded the police to investigate the matter.
As per the animal rights activists, on Monday morning some locals found the carcasses of five puppies which were lying headless near pipelines of nala, Parthiwada near Puranapul.
Heart rending scene was that the mother of puppies was whining besides the body of puppies.
“On Tuesday, one of the locals who found this informed me about this and I rushed to the spot and found the carcasses of the beheaded puppies.
I immediately lodged a complaint with the Dhoodbowli police and asked them to send the bodies for post-mortem and to trace the culprits behind this gruesome act,” said Hema, a social worker and animal rights activist.
It is learnt that a couple of days back some miscreants in a drunken state visited the site and created ruckus during the night hours.
Police believe that some of those individuals might have involved in this act.
