Indian Red Cross Society’s general secretary S Balasubrahmanyam announced that the society has constituted two functional committees for Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh to enable smooth operation and legal bifurcation will be executed in a month’s time. He was addressing the gathering at Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society (SUES).

S Balasubramanyam said, “Once the bifurcation process of society is legally conducted, measures to ameliorate management of collected blood by the society will receive a strong boost. The society will monitor blood collected from donors, mobilisation of blood to needy individuals, and digitise quality check using comprehensive software being developed by IIT-Ahmedabad.”

A cheque of Rs 2 lakh was presented by the society chairman Khan Lateef Khan towards the Indian Red Cross Society, AP State Branch. Balasubramanyan welcomed the donation and said, “Such donations have previously helped the society to purchase the Nucleic Acid Test (NAT) equipment which was priced at Rs 1.5 crore.”

He also lauded the efforts of 600 students of the college for generously donating blood to the Red Cross Society recently. Education society secretary Zafar, Dr Anupama Koneru, Dr Mir Akbar Ali Khan, Mohammed Jaffar, Prof. Basheer Ahmed, and staff and principals of constituent colleges were also present.
