Bodhan: Kabaddi which attracts the attention of people as a rural sport has won the admiration of all sections, observed Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy here on Tuesday night.

Addressing the valedictory day events of the three-day State Kabaddi Under-20 Tournament for both women and men, Reddy stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was taking all steps to encourage sportsmen and women. He wished that winners of the State tournament would emerge victorious in the nationals.

The Minister gave away mementoes to the members of Warangal women’s team, who won the tourney bagging 33 points, and of Nalgonda, who were the runners up, with 28 points.

In the Men’s event, Nalgonda emerged victorious with 27 points and Mahabubnagar finished second, bagging 21 points. The winners will participate in the nationals to be conducted in Baroda from December 21 to 23.
