Kodangal: The students from Gundlakunta village under Kodangal mandal on Thursday staged a protest by blocking the main road and demanded that the RTC authorities must run more buses to help them have easy transportation.

At present there is only one bus to commute from Tandur depot to Nandaram village covering the villages of Peddanandigama, Hussainpur and Gundlakunta. However, as the bus reaches Gundlakunta, it is already overcrowded and there is no space left for the school students to get into the bus.

Because of heavy rush many students are forced to stay back and some of them take private vehicles to reach their school. In view of this, the school students had staged a protest at Gundlakunta gate on Thursday and demanded that the RTC authorities ply more buses to help easy transport for the school students.

“We are facing tough time due to lack of proper transportation. The RTC authorities are unmindful of our problems. Therefore, we demand the government to immediately direct the concerned RTC authorities to run more buses in this route and help the school students,” said Raju Nayak of BJP, while supporting the students cause.
