Liquor shops to be open till 12 am on Dec 31

On the eve of new year, all the liquor shops, pubs, bar and restaurants, resorts serving liquor to remain open till 12 am on December 31 in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. A notification in the regard has been issued by Excise Department chief secretary Somesh Kumar. The Liquor shops will remain open from 10 am to 10 pm on normal days.
Meanwhile, the shops in the districts will be opened till 11 pm. After issuing the notice, Excise and Enforcement director Akun Sabharwal said that the shops have to take prior permission for organising new year celebrations. The shops within the limits of GHMC will have to pay Rs 9000 and others Rs 6000.
