With trends from Bihar pouring in, the Bharatiya Janata Party is in lead with 114 seats of the 243-seat Assembly while the Grand Alliance is struggling under the weight of Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD as the Nitish-Lalu combine were ahead in 91 as Bihar set to make an impact for all stakeholders these elections.
The Election Commission after one and a half hours of counting, declared 28 leads with NDA having 18, Nitish’s grand alliance having 10. The historic turnout at the elections has been lauded by the Election Commission as it has been over two decades since the voting witnessed such heavy turnout.
The celebrations began at the BJP's headquarter after the initial trends were revealed showing the party ahead of its rivals in the vote count. But the latest trends suggest the Grand Alliance of JD(U), RJD and Congress are leading in the state with Nitish Kumar's JDU leading by 137 votes while BJP stands at 99.
