Accordingly, Telangana Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy will be filing a petition in Supreme Court on Monday.

This decision was taken in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister with the Minister and senior officials of education and other departments in Secretariat concerned on Saturday. Authorities brought to KCR's notice about the August 1 deadline set by the apex court for completion of admission formalities.

The Chief Minister felt it was highly impossible to meet the deadline considering present situation in the new State. He pointed out that adequate shortage of All India Service (AIS) officers was hampering administration severely. Although Telangana was entitled to avail services of 320 AIS officers, including IAS, IPS and IFS, only 70 of them were discharging duties with most of them being burdened by two to three departments.

He stressed that the fee reimbursement issue, which needed to be examined thoroughly, would require more time. Hence it is in best interests of the State to seek time till October end, he said and told advocate general to file a review petition in Supreme Court on Monday.

Education minister G Jagadeeshwar Reddy, chief secretary Dr Rajeev Sharma, special chief secretary Raymond Peter, principal secretary to Chief Minister S Narsing Rao, professor Ghanta Chakrapani were among those attended the meeting.
