Nizamabad: Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender laid foundation stone for 33 KV sub-station near Gundenemli village in Bichkunda mandal under the limits of Jukkal Assembly constituency on Thursday. The sub-station would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore.

Addressing a public meeting organised on the occasion, the Minister said that people living in the villages of Gundenemli, Wajid Nagar and Bandarenjal would be relieved of low voltage and power shortage problems once the sub-station becomes operational. He stated that the TRS government was taking all measures to resolve power crisis in the state by investing Rs 45,000 crore in the next three years.

“We have achieved Telangana state so that people can live with prosperity,” he added. Eatala said that the Telangana government had designed water grid scheme to supply drinking water to every house in the next three years. He informed people that the state government had allocated Rs 4,500 crore in the budget for Aasara pension scheme.

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the state government had set a target of restoration of 46000 tanks as part of Mission Kakatiya. He pointed out that the government would take measures for restoration of 9,300 tanks at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore this year to provide water for irrigation.

“701 tanks would be restored in the district during this year,” he added. In order to increase the green cover in the state, the TRS government has decided to plant 230 crore saplings in the next three years. “Government would provide saplings to people free of cost,” he stated.

Zaheerabad MP BB Patil, Jukkal MLA Hanumanth Shinde, MLC Rajeswar Rao, ZP Chairman D Raju, Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy, RDO Shyamprasad Lal and other officials were present. Later, the Ministers inaugurated the primary health centre at Pulkal village in Bichkunda mandal which was constructed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh.
