They told the DGP that many of them were not receiving pensions as per the norms and many families did not receive the ex-gratia. They also sought concession in registration charges during construction of houses and asked the DGP to take necessary steps in such a way that fee-reimbursement could be availed by their children who intend to join engineering and medical studies at private organisations.


They also asked the DGP to provide quota for the children during police recruitment. Responding to the requests made by the martyrs’ families, the DGP said that requests for pay-revision could be submitted at the concerned District Police Superintendent’s office for consideration. He said that the senior police officers would discuss the issue of lands given by the government with the concerned district collectors and also ensure to take steps to provide loans on the lands.


He said that the government has formed a committee consisting of Home Minister, Revenue Minister and IT Minister to resolve the issues of the families of martyrs. Reports on the grievances of martyrs’ families were already been submitted by the senior officers to the committee for review and were expecting early resolutions.


The DGP said that they were offering a quota of two per cent to the families of martyrs during recruitment in the police department and would send a request to the government to provide fee reimbursement.Drugs and Copyrights, Drugs Control Administration DG B L Meena, Additional DG (Law and Order) Sudeep Laktakia and IG (Intelligence) B Sivadhar Reddy were also present during the meeting on Wednesday.
