Khammam: Communist Party of India (CPM) expelled five MPTC members of the district from the party for voting against the common candidate of the Left parties, Puvvada Nageshwar Rao in the local body MLC elections.

In a statement released on Sunday, CPM district secretary Sudarshan said that MPTC members Dobbala Krishnaveni (Kondavanamala, Konijerla mandal), Narsimha Rao (Bodulabanda, Nelakondapalli mandal), Chettipogu Sunitha (Peddamandava, Mudigonda mandal), Manemma (Madapuram), and Sita (Gundepudi, Julurupadu mandal) have been expelled from the party.
