Nizamabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday wanted officials to change their style of functioning. “Forget what you have been doing all these years. Try to understand the needs of the people and work out plans to meet their aspirations,” he told the officials at a district review meeting here.

“The government is adopting practical methodology even in preparation of budget. We have moved out of traditional style of budget preparations that was witnessed in the undivided State all these years. We have come up with need-based practical budget. Similarly, the officials too should prepare need-based plans and meet the requirements of the people,” he said.

The Chief Minister, who was reviewing the district development, made it clear that the priorities of the State have to be identified along with the needs of the district. “It is possible to build ‘Navatelangana’ only by implementing an innovative action programme,” he stressed. “Till last year a proper estimate of the State budget was lacking.

This has been overcome now, with deletion of unproductive schemes,” he asserted. The Chief Minister emphasised on the need to complete Mission Bhageeratha work before the onset of monsoon so that it would help farmers.
