Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Warangal MP P Dayakar, TRS district president T Ravinder Rao and others said Revanth Reddy’s comments were in bad taste and he was acting like a puppet in the hands of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Revanth Reddy has lacked stature to comment against the CM Chandrashekar Rao. The Dy.CM K Srihari and party leader E Dayakar Rao, who were in TDP in the past joined the TRS as they believed in the commitment of the CM in developing Telangana, said the MP.
Ravinder Rao said the welfare of people and development of Telangana was neglected during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule. It was during the rule of TDP agriculture was neglected and farmers were beaten up and shot at for demanding quality power supply.
Similarly unemployment rate was at its peak during TDP regime. The students were not given scholarships, universities were not given block grants and there was no recruitment when the party was in rule. In addition to that user charges were introduced in government hospitals troubling the poor, he alleged.
The CM KCR made great sacrifices and fought for more than one decade to achieve statehood to Telangana region. The public in the state were very much happy with the TRS government functioning and the TDP leaders were troubled with that, he added.
Ravinder Rao told the TDP leaders to stop making allegations against the TRS rule and warned that the public in Telangana who supported the TRS and voted it to power would teach them a lesson to them. The GWMC councillor Jorika Ramesh, the party leaders G Ravi Kumar, Md. Nayeemuddin, TRSV secretary general K Vasudeva Reddy and others were present.
Earlier on the day, Vasudeva Reddy has performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to statue of Telangana ideologue K Jayashanker at Ekasila Park and sprinkled water mixed with turmeric power on the premises. Speaking on the occasion, he said, TDP leader Revanth Reddy has desecrated the statue and the park by garlanding the statue and by conducting ‘Vidyarthi Porubata’ in the park.
