Govt to build Rythu Vedika Bhavans in districts
Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the State government has decided to construct \'Rythu Vedika Bhavans\' in 2,630 clusters across the State at a cost of Rs 400 crore during the next financial year.
Andole (Sangareddy): Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the State government has decided to construct 'Rythu Vedika Bhavans' in 2,630 clusters across the State at a cost of Rs 400 crore during the next financial year.
This was being done to provide a venue for Agricultural Extension Officers, Farmers' Coordination Committee Members, Horticultural Extension Officers and farmers to organise meetings and discuss among themselves regarding issues relating to agriculture, he added.
Addressing the newly formed Farmers' Coordination Committee members of Andole, Pulkal and Tekmal mandals at an awareness camp held in Andole on Monday, he outlined the role of the committee. He said that the committees at village, mandal and district levels would play a key role in coordinating with the departments concerned in assisting farmers in various ways.
These include conducting soil tests, identifying suitable crops basing on the type of soil, making recommendations and procurement of high yielding seeds and deciding on the customers to sell their produce and fixing prices, he added.
