Hyderabad: Based on the orders of City Commissioner of Police, Anjani Kumar, Preventive Detention (PD) Act was invoked against a rowdy-sheeter of Bhavani Nagar police station in south zone. According to police, the PD Act was invoked against Md Azher Hussain, 19, an auto driver and resident of Talabkatta, Rahmath Nagar. He had committed crimes like murder and attempt to murder in the city police Commissionerate limits.
“He has committed two such offences in the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and has been creating large-scale fear and panic among the general public and businessmen in the locality, thereby adversely affecting the public order, apart from disturbing the peace, tranquillity and social harmony in the society,” said the police officials. Bhavani Nagar Police arrested the accused on June 17 and remanded him to judicial custody.
