Narayankhed: Protesting anti-labour policies, the Centre for Indian Trade Union (CITU) leaders burnt an effigy of the central government here on Wednesday. Former CITU district president Manik alleged that the government is giving Rs 1,000 crore to big investors but not fulfilling the basic needs of the labourers.

He demanded fixing Rs 18,000 as basic wage for the labourers and the cancelling of contract and outsourcing system. CITU district secretary Chiranjeevi and workers took part in the protest.
