Visakhapatnam: Experienced Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar opened his campaign with an impressive three-under 69 to share the first-round lead with Deepak Yadav, Ravi Kumar and Kanav Chauhan at the Green Fuels Maritime Invitational 2026 at East Point Golf Club on Tuesday.

The 11-time Asian Tour winner adapted well to the unfamiliar course despite missing a practice round due to heavy rain. Bhullar, who leads the individual standings in Season 2 of the AM Green IGPL Tour, carded four birdies against one bogey to remain in contention for consecutive titles following his recent victory at the Krishna Invitational.

Deepak Yadav also produced a bogey-free 69, while Ravi Kumar and Kanav Chauhan matched the leading score to complete the four-way tie.

Yashas Chandra was fifth with a two-under 70, while Nayanika Sanga led the women’s field with a one-under 71. Olympian Udayan Mane, Arjun Prasad and Harshjeet Sethie shared seventh place at even par.

Persistent rain made conditions challenging, with preferred lies introduced and organisers opting for a shotgun start. Bhullar said he was pleased with his performance and motivated to contribute to his team, Vimtra Chennai Lions.
