OU Inter-College Basketball C’ships: Loyola Academy, Bhavan’s record big wins

Hyderabad: Loyola Academy and Bhavan’s registered impressive victories on the opening day of the Osmania University Inter-College Basketball Championships for Men, held at Loyola Academy, Alwal.

Loyola Academy defeated St. Mary’s 52-8, with Anthony emerging as the top scorer with 12 points. Bhavan’s beat MJCET 47-21, while St. Joseph’s defeated Keshav Memorial 29-6, with Asish scoring 10 points.

Mathrusri overcame Badruka 26-19, powered by Shashank’s 16 points, and later defeated Vignan Jyothi 25-11, with Bilal scoring 12 points. MJCET beat NGIT 24-5, while Vignan Jyothi edged Lord’s Engineering 17-16.

St. Joseph’s also defeated LFDC 20-12, with Srini contributing six points. Keshav Memorial beat Haji Ghouse 14-4, with Sarfaray scoring one point. St. Mary’s defeated IIMC 19-9, with Srihith and Eshaan scoring four points each.

Rev. Fr. Dr N B Babu SJ, principal of Loyola Academy, attended as chief guest. Sr Prof Rajesh Kumar, secretary of ICT (Men), Osmania University, was the guest of honour. Rev. Fr. K Anil Kumar SJ, vice-principal and director of sports, was also present.
