In Short
Apple could unveil its first touch-screen MacBook on October 27, alongside upgraded Macs and a new iPad mini, according to a report.

Apple May Launch First Touch-Screen MacBook on October 27: Report
Apple might be getting ready for a product release, on October 27. The first touch-screen MacBook is expected to be one of the items. A famous publication reported that people who know about Apple's plans said the company might also bring out new 14-inch MacBook Pro models and new iMac models that use M6 chips. A new iPad mini could also be part of the event.
The reported launch will come just two weeks after Apple's October 13 event, which is expected to focus on its smart home product lineup. Like the earlier event, the October 27 presentation could combine an online video announcement with an in-person gathering for the media.
Touch-Screen MacBook Could Be a Major Upgrade
A touch‑screen MacBook would mark a change for Apple, a company that has traditionally relied on keyboards and trackpads for its laptops. The addition of touch controls could give users another way to navigate the system and work with applications.
According to a famous publication, the upcoming MacBooks and iPad are expected to target professionals involved in video production, photo editing and music creation. The report states that the lineup “will be geared toward creative professionals who work in video production, photo editing and music production”.
The expected launches are part of a broader product push under Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, who succeeded Tim Cook last month. Ternus is reportedly looking to expand the company's reach into new markets and increase revenue from its services business.
Apple has yet to officially confirm the October 27 event or the products expected to be announced.
Apple’s October 13 Event to Focus on Smart Home Products
Meanwhile, Apple has announced its ‘Welcome home’ event for October 13. Greg Joswiak, the company's SVP of Worldwide Marketing, shared a teaser video on X, building anticipation for the upcoming announcements.
Apple is expected to introduce a smart home hub with a built-in display, a new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV.
The smart home hub could be the biggest announcement of the event. The device is rumoured to feature a screen for checking weather updates, viewing calendar events and controlling music. It could compete with Google's Nest Hub and Amazon's Echo Show.
Reports also mention a S11 chip, which might help the device run faster and add new Siri AI features. A camera built into the device, for FaceTime could let users make video calls. A special operating system made just for this device could gather all home controls in one spot.
With two reported launch events planned for October, Apple could be preparing a busy month of announcements across its computing and smart home businesses.
