As many as 17 married couples have received Kalyana Lakshmi cheques from the hands of Kalwakurthy MLA Jaipal Yadav in Kadthal mandal of Ranga Reddy district on Monday.
Nagarkurnool: As many as 17 married couples have received Kalyana Lakshmi cheques from the hands of Kalwakurthy MLA Jaipal Yadav in Kadthal mandal of Ranga Reddy district on Monday.
The Kalwakurthy MLA, while distributing the cheques to beneficiaries, said that the State government was taking up welfare and development programmes for all sections of the society.
"Earlier, the poor families in Telangana were facing a tough time to perform the wedding of their girl child. Even today, many people are selling their properties to perform marriages and incurring huge debts. Realising the hardships of poor families, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had brought in unique and first-of-its-kind scheme to help poor families to perform the marriage of their girl child and providing a financial aid of Rs 1.16 lakh," said the MLA, while distributing the cheques.
Later, the MLA participated in Haritha Haram programme and planted saplings in Kadthal mandal headquarters.
