A Ganesha on a pin, a message for the planet

Jagitial (MIRYALA RAJANI) : A tiny pin has turned into a canvas for a big message this Ganesh Navratri. Renowned miniature artist Dr Guram Dayakar, who has earned an honorary doctorate and a Guinness World Record, has created a miniature clay idol of Lord Ganesha on a pin, showcasing his exceptional artistic skills.

Known for creating a unique Ganesha idol every year, Dr Dayakar chose an unusual medium this time to convey an important message on environmental protection. The miniature idol, made using clay, a pin and water colours, took nearly 10 hours of painstaking work to complete.

Though the idol is tiny in size, the message behind it is significant. Dr Dayakar wants devotees to opt for eco-friendly clay idols and help protect water bodies and soil from pollution caused by the immersion of idols made from non-biodegradable materials.

“Worshipping clay Ganesha idols is not merely a tradition, but also a responsibility towards our environment and future generations,” he said, appealing to people to celebrate Ganesh Navratri in an eco-friendly manner.

With his remarkable miniature artwork, Dr Dayakar has once again combined creativity with a social message, reminding people that even the smallest creation can carry a big idea.

He extended his greetings to people on the occasion of Ganesh Navratri and urged everyone to make the celebrations environmentally responsible.
