AISF calls for statewide struggle over students’ issues
Hanumakonda: Former All India Students’ Federation (AISF) national president Takkalapalli Srinivasa Rao has called upon students across Telangana to prepare for statewide struggles against the government’s alleged negligence towards the education sector.
Speaking at the concluding celebrations of the AISF’s 90th anniversary at the Balavikasa Centre in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, Mr Rao said students were facing several challenges from schools to universities. He urged the government to give greater priority to education and take immediate steps to resolve pending issues.
He demanded the release of outstanding fee reimbursement and scholarship funds, saying delays were causing difficulties for students. He also called for vacant faculty posts in degree and postgraduate colleges and universities to be filled promptly. In addition, he sought better infrastructure and facilities in government schools.
Mr Rao recalled the AISF’s long history of fighting for student rights, free and quality education, and social justice. He urged students to unite and strengthen their movement against policies affecting education.
AISF State president Manikanta Reddy presided over the programme. State secretary Putta Lakshman, CPI district secretary Karre Bhikshapathi and other leaders attended.
